What are data mailboxes?
Data mailboxes are the new form of communication with the public administration. Under the law data mailboxes are established for all legal entities and state authorities. Communication between the authorities and mailbox owners will be mainly electronic as of 1 November 2009!
This means that individual authorities will not send companies registered letters, but in most cases will send the relevant message to the data mailbox.
From the point of view of companies the concept of “fictional” delivery is important. Messages in data mailboxes are automatically deemed to have been received 10 days of delivery, just as if you were collecting a registered letter from the post office. This means it is important to check your company mailbox regularly!
